| I grew up in the Hilton Head Island, South Carolina area. In high school I was an all-A student, I read all the time, I played my guitar, and I had lead roles in the school drama productions. Not to brag, buddy, that shit's not all it's cracked up to be. I was searched on school grounds on February 2nd,1999, and they found .9 grams (dime sack) of marijuana on me. I was snatched from the play I was in, I was not even allowed to go on school campus until I was returned as a student, which wasn't until six months later. I was put in a program wherein I was lucky to get the three credits that I got for the entire semester, surrounded by a bunch of thugs who tried to kill teachers with plastic silverware, and being female was not fun, buddy. I never thought that I would think highly of Hilton Head High, but in comparison to SOAR it's an educational wet dream. I know my shit, and I can argue the mythical basis of the drug war with absolute cognizance (THC receptors, hemp's usfulness, and our lovely drug czar's stupidity, etc.), and I'm asking anyone in my area who supports legalization to get in contact with me. |
~ Reasons to Legalize ~
| The fact that making it illegal gives impressionable scenesters a false impression about how truly dangerous hard drugs are (because they know marijuana isn't); the fact that it creates a much larger criminal element, and fills the prison system with innocents; the fact that IT IS NOT inherently harmful, and it doesn't endocrinologically promote abuse; the fact that any law passed for its own sake repudiates the idea of freedom. Keep on keepin' on, y'all. |
