Hello all you legalizers! Hopefully some other members will take the time to look at this page...I am from the SF Bay Area: one of the hot spots on the front line of legalization. Under Gov. Wilson California's Prop. 215 was pretty much kicked to the curb even though it passed by a reasonable majority! Perhaps under our fair & just Gov. Davis a properly observed 215 will aid in the resurfacing or re-opening of the legal medical marijuana clubs. Despite being passed as legal by the State, medical marijuana is still illegal as far as the Feds are concerned. I qualify for medical marijuana patient status...if only it were truely legal to be one in the first place. I have suffered from devistating arthiritis-related pain for the past 20 years. I began smoking shortly after developing juvenile arthiritis at age 12. Marijuana, instead of hindering me, has allowed me to survive. I can only imagine the constant distracting pain the majority of arthiritis victims suffer. I tried ibuprofen & other pain relievers, which over the years have destroyed my stomach. It's a Catch 22, some temporary pain relief in return for a ruined gut for the rest of your life. At the time, my doctor had me taking 2400mg of ibuprofen a day! This will eat the lining of your stomach & give you a variety of "interesting" disorders. If you too suffer from arthiritis & are taking ibuprofen or a similar over the counter pain reliever on a daily basis: STOP NOW! I suggest a daily regimen of: -glucosamine 500mg(with chondroitin 400mg) 3 times a day -hydrolyed collagen 8.5 g twice a day -shark or cow cartilage twice a day -smoked marijuana for pain as needed (the first three items are readily available in a variety of over the counter products, the fourth item is sadly still against the law to buy or distribute...In California right now the best you could do is grow your own medicine...)
